Home About Out and About Events

Pacific communities have shared with us their educational aspirations for Pacific learners. What they shared is shaping education.
There is still a lot of work to do to make sure the education system is working for all Pacific learners and families and this is why the Government is committed to using the Pacific communities’ experiences to shape the wider work in education, and change the way the Ministry of Education works with Pacific families and communities.

As part of the new way of working, the Ministry has organised a series of fono starting August 26, 2019 to talk to you about the next steps, including working together to design an action plan for Pacific education.

To subscribe to updates, send us an email at pacific.educationconversation@education.govt.nz

The dates for the fono are here.

At the fono we’ll also be asking:

  • Have we honoured and valued what you said in our proposed vision for Pacific education, and the changes needed to get there?
  • What do you think about the actions the Ministry is taking to make change for Pacific learners and families?
  • How do we know we are making progress?

We really value what you say and your experience of the education system, and want to work with you to ensure all Pacific learners and families are safe, valued and equipped to achieve yours aspirations.

We look forward to seeing you at a fono near you.
