The Ministry of Education is seeking feedback on draft achievement standards and supporting resources for three of the four NCEA Level 1 Pilot subjects – English, Religious Studies and Visual Arts.
Draft standards for four NCEA Level 1 Pilot subjects - English, Science, Religious Studies and Visual Arts - are being developed through a Trial and Pilots initiative, in preparation for the work in rebuilding NCEA standards and resources across all subjects.
The public feedback process runs from 2 September to 22 September 2020. It does not include NCEA Level 1 Science products, which will now be released for feedback at a later point. We expect to provide a further update on that process shortly.
Schools and wharekura are also invited to submit Expressions of Interest to take part in a mini-pilot in 2021, when the draft achievement standards and resources for all four Level 1 Pilot subjects will be trialled in a small number of schools. The closing date for submitting Expressions of Interest is on 22 September 2020.
