The Minister of Education appointed a Ministerial Advisory Group to explore ideas for how to strengthen NCEA.

This group worked collaboratively with young people, the Ministry of Education, and representatives from across the education sector and wider community to develop the following Discussion Documents.

Big Opportunities

The first document outlines the Big Opportunities presented by the Ministerial Advisory Group and gives a breakdown of the opportunities, challenges, and what NCEA could look like if the changes are made. These ideas are intended to provoke, inspire, and encourage the kōrero on NCEA.

Ākonga Māori

The second document, Ākonga Māori, looks at the NCEA Review from a Māori perspective and with our rangatahi in mind. It talks to those who have rangatahi who are involved with NCEA, in any setting, whether English- or Māori-medium.
